Drive-Thru for Coronavirus at PM Pediatrics at 1457 Northern Blvd. in Manhasset
All COVID-19 screening appointments must be booked in advance.
Only pediatric patients who have been evaluated by a medical professional from PM Pediatrics in person or via its Anywhere telemedicine app, are eligible to be tested.
Parents can drive to a secure tent in the parking lot, where the child’s nose will be swabbed and a sample collected. Results will be reported in approximately four days.
PM Pediatrics is also offering Antibody Testing for Families
PM Pediatrics started offering COVID-19 antibody testing at 36 locations nationwide, six of which are on Long Island in: Carle Place, Commack, Manhasset, Massapequa Park, Selden and Syosset.
The New Hyde Park-based pediatric urgent care group said an entire household that includes at least one child can get the test. The group said in order to schedule an appointment, a parent must download the PM Pediatrics Anywhere app and set up a screening.
The COVID-19 antibody test consists of a blood sample, drawn from a vein. An antibody is a marker in the blood that indicates the body’s immune reaction to a specific infection, in this case COVID-19. Results are reported in two to three days, PM Pediatrics said.
Patients with insurance will have the co-pay waived, the group said. The out-of-pocket cost for those without insurance is $65.00.
Testing for Coronavirus conducted by HRHcare are located at the Brentwood Recreation Center and Riverhead County Center
Call to make a telemedicine appointment at 1-844-HRH-CARE. All testing is by appointment only. Most testing is reserved for hospitalized patients, high-risk patients, and patients with moderate-severe symptoms who have also had prolonged exposure to known cases of COVID-19.
Moderate-severe symptoms include:
- Temperature greater than 100.5not responsive to medications for fever
- Severe Shortness of Breath
- Persistent Cough
Remember that most people who get COVID-19 can recover at home with no treatment. If you are mildly ill you should remain home and contact your provider with any questions. Patients who are worried about COVID-19 (coronavirus) can get a quick, remote consultation with a doctor using telemedicine.
