The Families First Coronavirus Response Act (FFCRA)

Effective April 1, 2020, the federal Families First Coronavirus Response Act (FFCRA) requires certain employers to provide employees with paid sick leave and expanded family and medical leave for specified reasons related to the outbreak of coronavirus, or COVID-19. The FFCRA’s paid leave provisions apply to leave taken between April 1, 2020, and December 31, 2020.

IRS Provides Increased Flexibility in Section 125 Cafeteria Plans

WASHINGTON — The Internal Revenue Service today released guidance to allow temporary changes to section 125 cafeteria plans. These changes extend the claims period for health flexible spending arrangements (FSAs) and dependent care assistance programs and allow taxpayers to make mid-year changes.
